Laila Kind Hands Foundation (LKH) is a Ugandan, community-based initiative dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children. Through education support, essential care, protection, and youth empowerment, we work alongside families and local stakeholders—primarily in the Busoga region—to give every child a real chance at a safe, dignified, and empowered life. We are currently operating as a community-based organisation and are taking phased steps toward formal CBO and NGO registration in Uganda.
We deliver four core programs and two supporting programs:
You can give online through our donation page or via bank transfer. Donations support specific projects—such as school sponsorship, feeding, or skills training—so you can see exactly how your contribution is used. Visit our Donate page to get started. Every contribution, large or small, helps a child take a real step forward.
Child sponsorship covers a vulnerable child’s education, basic needs, mentorship, and ongoing care. We offer personalised sponsorship packages that connect you to a specific child or project so you can follow their journey. Visit our Sponsor a Child page to start the process.
We welcome volunteers in community outreach, mentorship and tutoring, event support, and professional services such as media, design, legal, and medical work. Fill out our volunteer application form or visit our Volunteer page to learn more.
We operate primarily in the Busoga region of Uganda, with potential to expand based on community demand and partnerships. Our work is delivered directly within the communities where vulnerable children live, in close collaboration with local leaders, schools, and families.
We are currently operating as a community-based initiative in Uganda. We are taking deliberate, phased steps to formalise our governance—first through registration as a Community-Based Organization (CBO), and ultimately as a fully recognised Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). This approach lets us build strong systems, accountability, and community trust before scaling up.
Every project we run has clearly defined goals, beneficiaries, timelines, and measurable outcomes. We track impact through baseline assessments, progress reports, beneficiary feedback, and follow-up evaluations. Funds are managed transparently with proper budgeting, record-keeping, and audits, and we publish regular reports for donors and partners. Visit our Accountability page for full details.
Yes. We actively pursue partnerships with corporates, NGOs, faith-based organisations, schools, and government bodies. Partners can contribute through co-funded projects, technical expertise, in-kind donations, employee volunteering, and CSR collaborations. Visit our Partnership page to start a conversation.
