About Us
Laila Kind Hands Foundation is a community-driven initiative committed to improving the lives of vulnerable children in the Busoga region of Eastern Uganda—and to extending care to other vulnerable groups within the communities we serve.
We exist to provide a structured, accountable, and compassionate platform through which everyday acts of kindness can be channelled into focused programs that deliver measurable, lasting change in education, welfare, protection, and empowerment.
Laila Kind Hands Foundation exists because vulnerable children in Busoga deserve more than scattered acts of kindness—they deserve consistent, accountable, and meaningful support. We are a community-driven initiative built around vulnerable children as our primary focus, while extending complementary care to the elderly and persons with disabilities.
Our work is delivered through clearly defined projects with specific objectives, beneficiaries, timelines, and measurable outcomes. This project-based model ensures every contribution can be traced to real, visible impact in the lives of the children and communities we serve.
We work with communities, not just for them. Local leaders, schools, parents, guardians, and volunteers shape our programs alongside us—ensuring interventions are relevant, accepted, and sustainable in Uganda’s Busoga region and beyond.
As we grow, we are formalizing our governance structures—transitioning from a community-based initiative toward registration as a Community-Based Organization (CBO) and, in time, a fully recognized Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). Through every stage, we remain committed to integrity, transparency, and compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
Laila Kind Hands Foundation grew out of a personal calling—a recognition that the need to help vulnerable children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities in our communities is far greater than the support currently available. Many people want to help; what was missing was a structured, accountable platform to channel that goodwill into focused, lasting impact.
From personal experiences with vulnerable children and families came the conviction to build a structured platform for collective kindness—focused, accountable, and rooted in real community needs.
Working with local leaders, schools, families, and volunteers in the Busoga region to identify needs and shape relevant, sustainable interventions.
Structuring our work into clearly defined projects across education, welfare, protection, and youth empowerment—each with specific goals and measurable outcomes.
Formalising our governance through registration as a Community-Based Organization, and ultimately as a recognised NGO in Uganda—to expand our reach with strong systems, transparency, and trust.
